Another judge on American Idol? Is this necessary? I love the show and I’ll always watch it because I love music and I love to hear the good ones sing, but why would they try to do something else to create controversy at the judge’s table?

OK…here’s what I’m thinking. Simon said he won’t do any more seasons of Idol after this one (or the next one), right? So they’ve got to get the new person in now before he leaves…so that it’s not like they’re replacing him when he’s gone. Which, of course, could never happen since he’s just so sweet. But I’m not an Idol fan and this is all specualation…although I do like the tryout shows. What are those called?
