what's in a name?

A lot, in my opinion, but that’s just me. I know that celebrities are different and they want to set their babies apart from the rest, but seriously, people!

Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale?

I just can’t figure it out. You’re not naming a baby doll. You’re naming a person who will need to be taken seriously at board meetings, in the classroom, in front of groups of people, and in every aspect of his life. If any of these names were the names of their parents, grandparents, or ancestors I would give them a free pass.

My coworker (who is my newest reader) and I were talking about this today. Her baby’s name is unusual, but still in a classic and traditional kind of way. Sorry Gwen and Gav. I’m not a fan of the names, but welcome to the world Baby Rossdale!

That name is just horrible. I’m a little bit obsessed with Gwen and Gavin – I think Kingston is quite possibly one of the cutest kids in Hollywood. I had high hopes for a cool new name for this one. But obviously, that didn’t happen. Zuma? That sounds like that gross clear beer – Zima! ha ha

I wholeheartedly agree! I hate to say it but this one ranks right up there with Apple! Seriously, where do they come up with these names? Is it in the “celebrity handbook” as a rule? Something like, “you must name any children the wildest, wackiest and just plain most bizarre name you can think of.” Poor kid.

thanks for stopping by today! i totally agree with the name thing. oh well, sometimes the names in hollywood get stranger and stranger.

with the sink skirt, i’ve seen it done VERY well in guest and master bathrooms. post a photo of the bathroom you are working with and let’s see if we cannot find you a great fabric to coordinate. if you don’t sew, a seamstress can make one of these for you for not too much $$.

Well whatcha think about Gia Zavala Damon? I was proud of my favorite sexiest man alive when the first one that popped out was given a “real” name (Isabella, right?). I haven’t made up my mind on this one. But I can’t talk…HG won’t be able to spell her name until she’s in 5th grade– it’s so long! Good thing she comes from such a smart pedigree. ha!

It’s so amazing to me that the baby was born only a couple of days ago and now, when you google the name, there are already 65,000 results! When I first heard the name, I thought it sounded like Lunesta – the prescription drug for insomnia! ha!

Zuma is the name of a really popular surf spot on the So Cal coast that I grew up near.

That is still no reason to torture a child with that name!

Oh, seriously – I nearly fell off my chair when I heard that name. “Zuma” is too similar to the bad wine cooler I’m ashamed to admit I may or may not have liked in college!
