Yesterday on the Today Show, they showed this video of Christian the Lion. I cried. You’ve probably all seen this, but wow!
They interviewed the two men in the video and they confirmed that this is a true story and it was a wonderful experience. So sweet!

ohhh my fiance showed me this yesterday! it was so sweet! (although I have to admit I was a little nervous when the lion jumped up at the guy’s face- it looked like he could either be playing or about to maul the guy.) haha. very sweet story though. 🙂

What a story! I am sitting here in my bed with tears in my eyes (I always read blogs in my bed in the morning). Thanks for sharing!

My step-mom forwarded it to me a few weeks ago and I, too, shed more than a few tears!

I watched this at work and started to cry!! Reminds me of my own little doggie and how loyal animals can be. What a sweet story.

I got that in an email entitled “True Love Never Dies”. I cried too! So cool!

Ugh. Not only did I not cry, I was horribly disappointed that the lion didn’t start mauling that guy and his stupid Farah Fawcett hair. I don’t suppose you happened to notice the advertisements running through the whole thing. Yeah, those would be for the full-length DVD–a dusty old documentary from 1971 that the Born Free Foundation is trying to make relevant again through the magic of viral marketing. Congratulations on being their patsy.
BTW, the actual tear-jerker in this story is that George Adamson, the guy that actually took care of Christian the lion in Kenya (along with many other lions) was shot dead on the reserve that he worked at for almost 20 years by none other than evil, disgusting lion poachers. However, considering the poachers and the lions themselves (including sweet Christian) would have finished George off in a second if so inclined, f**k them all. Here’s to the guy that worked and died for the unappreciative.
