Joyful, Joyful!

One of my favorite things about Christmas is receiving Christmas cards in the mail. I love to send them, too, but being in a new house has been so much fun because we’ve already been receiving so many beautiful cards.

(And, you know, sometimes ordering a card and choosing a photo gets a little hairy when you realize that in a whole year you only have two photos of your whole family of four. But that’s a story for another day.)

With the move and all the events of the Christmas season, I wanted to order my Christmas cards as soon as possible so I could get them addressed and mailed before the holiday fun began.

I decided to order from Minted this year because you just can’t beat the quality. The designs are beautiful and original, and can be customized. The paper quality is absolutely fantastic.

But the best part is the reliability. I ordered them last week and they shipped within two days. And I even received a proof before they shipped.

The cards arrived a couple of days ago and I spent the last two days during nap time addressing them, putting in the envelope liners (which are absolutely gorgeous) and stuffing them.

I’m in love.

We enlisted the help of Emily Chappell Photography to take our family photos this year, and we were so pleased. The boys had the best time and we got some really beautiful photos that capture our personalities.

Choosing a card was easy this year when I saw the Joyful, Joyful card! I included an envelope liner and a card backer for a little bit extra, and I love how they turned out.

Today (Friday), Minted is offering a promotion of free shipping upgrade to overnight. You will pay $7.95 for standard shipping but you will receive overnight shipping if you check the appropriate box. This is only available on Friday. It’s absolutely worth it to take advantage of overnight shipping so you can get your cards out as soon as possible. (Cards are shipped after you approve your proof.)

May your days be merry and bright, and may all your mailboxes be full!

Santa! I know him!

So a lot of times I blog for me and other times I blog for you and me. When I’m blogging for you and me I’m craving the community and so appreciate the community.

Today’s post is a post for me. Because while I know that not everyone wants to see pictures of our memories, I absolutely love being able to go back every year and see things we did. But maybe you like seeing pictures of my boys, too?

On Friday night, we went to the Junior League of Columbia’s Holiday Market PJs with Santa event. I was actually the vice chair for this event this year, and it’s one of my favorite things to do with the boys every year.

The kids get to meet Santa, watch a movie, listen to Christmas books, decorate cookies, do a craft, and run all over the Holiday Market.

The boys love it, and now that they’re officially no longer afraid of Jolly Old St. Nick, it’s a lot more fun!

We dressed them in their finest Christmas pajamas and took them to meet Santa.

Hudson and Hayes are  wearing these pajamas.

Santa 2013

And it went really well. I still can’t believe it.

I am a really big fan of the Santa photos with the screaming kiddo. I can’t help it. (We’ve had our share of Easter Bunny and Santa photos with a screaming Hudson.) I also laugh when people slip and fall… which is okay because I’m always the one who slips and falls and I expect that people will laugh at me.

When Santa (who is the very best Santa ever) asked the boys what they wanted, Hudson froze and couldn’t answer him. And Hayes said, “Toys.” Of course.

Today, my friends Jenny, Ashley, and Darci are hosting a PJ Party link up and I’m linking up with them!
