I was so excited about last night’s Project Runway finale. I didn’t really have a favorite going into it. I liked Jillian because she was the female of the group, I had a love/hate relationship with Christian and his attitude, and Rami has an amazing way of making the female body look amazing.

I picked my three favorite outfits from last night from all of the designers.

Overall, in my opinion, Christian’s collection was the most cohesive and interesting, but this dress by Rami is so beautiful and was favorite piece of the night. It screams wedding to me!

Even before Todd and I got engaged, I started checking Kelly Moore’s calendar at Kelly Moore Photography. I knew that I wanted Kelly to take our engagement pictures, my bridal portraits, and come out to shoot the wedding. The only problem is that we’re getting married in South Carolina and Kelly’s studio is in my hometown, Ruston, Louisiana. Todd and I would have to go there for the engagements, I’d have to go there for the bridals, and we’d bring Kelly out for the wedding. It seemed like a lot of extra work, so I shopped around South Carolina a little bit for another photographer. It was pointless. I looked in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, but didn’t find anyone that I like nearly as much as Kelly. I stalk her blog daily to find her latest work. I’ve even found some of the best wedding ideas through her photo documentation! Kelly took all of the photos that are on the right hand side of our blog. I’m going next Friday to Shreveport, Louisiana to meet Kelly for my bridal portraits. She told me to come fearless and ready to have fun– I’m ready!

I asked Kelly to share some of her favorite photos with me and she was kind enough to do so. Aren’t they amazing?!

And if it’s not enough that Kelly is uber-talented and the best photographer I’ve ever seen, her mother is a phenomenal cake maker and the owner of Moore Cake Please. I took this picture off of Kelly’s blog of one of the cakes by Moore Cake Please.

the save the dates that started it all

Our Save the Dates went out back in late October and they really set the tone for the whole wedding. We created a “travel folder” for all of our guests because most of them have never been to Greenville before. We used the lace design from Todd’s mother’s handkerchief and had Kelly Moore take a picture of the hanky before we sent it off to the printer.The handkerchief design totally covers the folder for the Save the Date and borders the envelope.

When you open the folder, there are four cards that read 1) Wedding Weekend Events, 2) From Erin and Todd, 3) lodging, 4) our favorite things to do in Greenville

A close up of the lace design that we’ve since used on all of the wedding paper. I’ve got a little bit on my thank you notes, the letter pressed invitations have the design on it, and the design will be the cover on the ceremony programs. We’re also creating drink recipes for our signature drink and posting them on a piece of cardstock with the lace design on it.

I know this is very late, but I just found the pictures of the “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” packages that we sent out. I have three beautiful bridesmaids, a maid of honor, and a matron of honor. These five women are so important to me and I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without them there.

I wanted to ask them to be my bridesmaids in a memorable way and incorporate a lot of what we had already decided about the wedding at that point. We knew that we were going with pink and gold and that it was going to be a destination wedding for all of the girls. I wanted them to have some items to use in their travels to Greenville and I also wanted to let them know how much they meant to me. They all received these packages at home:

monogrammed burlap tote bag for each girl complete with pink and gold stuffing!

bridesmaid to-do list

a mixed CD full of songs that remind me of each of the girls and a jewel case insert with a collage of pictures of all of us

personalized stationery for each girl

Did anyone do anything special to ask their bridesmaids to be a part of their big day?
