happy birthday, PC!

Today is my mother-in-law’s birthday! We’re so fortunate to be able to see Todd’s parents on a regular basis and we celebrated PC’s birthday on Friday night. It was so much fun to eat, laugh, and put out scary sparkler candles!

This picture of Todd’s mom and grandmother with my mom and me was taken at a shower that was held here in Columbia. I sure do have lots of women to be thankful for in my life!

Happy Birthday, PC!

home feels like the hotel

Todd and I got married in Greenville, SC and had our reception at the Westin Poinsett Hotel. We stayed at the hotel for about 4 nights and stay there every time we visit Greenville. I discovered the most wonderful thing the last time we were there. All of the Starwood properties (Sheraton, W, Westin, etc.) have signature scents. The Westin signature scent is White Tea and it is so yummy! It smells so fresh and crisp and I have been trying to figure out how to get my house to smell just like that.

You can buy the White Tea diffuser oil and a special 12 month Scent Wave program. The latter is what they use in the hotels to blow the scent throughout the lobby and into the hallways.

You can enroll in a 12 month program for $39.99. Scent Wave will send you a new cardtridge every 30 days! I want two of them– one for upstairs and one for downstairs. It’s genius and I’m so glad that anyone can purchase these!

tired!

I stayed up until 1:30 this morning watching the individual all around competition in women’s gymnastics. It was pretty exciting. I don’t know a ton about gymnastics, but I know that something fishy was going on with the scoring.

Anyway… we took gold and silver and I got really emotional watching Nastia Liukin at the medal ceremony and watching Shawn Johnson give praise to her teammate.

We’re celebrating my mother-in-law’s birthday tonight. I’m going home at noon to bake a cake. I don’t have big plans for the weekend, but there are a lot of projects I want to try to get done around the house. I still haven’t watched Project Runway from this week and I want to work on hanging up some of our wedding pictures that we recently got framed. I’m definitely going to be sleeping in. The Olympics have worn me out. I just can’t stop watching and bed time has gone out the window this week!

I’m excited to see who my partner is for the Preppy Fall Swap. Head on over there to sign up if you haven’t yet. Today is the deadline! Have a great weekend!

"how's married life?"

I know there are lots of newlyweds out there that may pop in to read my posts. Am I the only one that is seriously annoyed by the question, “How’s married life?”

Maybe it just annoys me because everyone and their brother asks that when they see us. It’s the same. We’re still together, we’re still happy, we love it. That’s why we decided to get married. Come up with something else to say when you see us, please.
