Win an Android Tablet from Norton

As a blogger, so much of my life is on my computer. I write blog posts, I send and receive money on Pay Pal, I correspond with readers and guest bloggers, and I just have a good time on my computer. Between Twitter, WordPress, and my email accounts, I’m always typing in password after password to get to the site I want to visit.

I can think of so many different times where I’ve been “locked out” of a site because I couldn’t remember my password. I have so many different passwords and they’re all different, but similar.

I often get confused about which password goes with which login. It’s frustrating and it’s a waste of time. And then all the times that I’m shopping online. Yes, it’s probably too often, but that’s not the point. I shop online more often than I shop in actual stores. And entering my credit card information over and over again just gets old. And I can have accounts at all of my favorite online retailers, but that requires having a password. And I have to remember that password.

Before I was introduced to the Norton Identity Safe program, I had some of my passwords randomly written down on sticky notes in my planner. I had some of my older passwords saved into an Excel file. And how easy is it to actually access that Excel file? Not easy at all. Especially when I’m not at my home computer.

The Norton Identity Safe app allows me to store my passwords, credit card information and form information, and notes all in one very secure location. It helps me determine which websites are secure and which ones aren’t.

The software also tells me when my passwords are “weak” or when they’re “strong” enough. It allows me to fill out annoying forms in just one click. I can finally feel okay about making up new passwords for each account because I’m not afraid of forgetting the password.

Not only am I able to see all of my saved passwords in the Norton Identity Safe program on my computer, but I also have the Norton Identity Safe app on my iPhone and my iPad. I have passwords saved into my Identity Safe Vault and all I have to do is enter my “vault” password to access all of my saved passwords.

When I’m on the go and needed to access so many different secure websites and programs, this makes life so much easier. To login to the Norton Identity Safe mobile add, I have to enter my Norton account information. And then enter the vault password to access my logins.

This app is so secure and so helpful! I love that I can access this information from all of my devices and that it cuts down on so much time for me to locate the information I need.

I have two very exciting pieces of information for you!

our weekend

We’ve been having so much fun at KK and Poppie’s house.

Just a little background for those of you that don’t know… My family moved from Louisiana (where I’d lived my whole life) to Indiana when I was in the 8th grade. When I finished high school, I went back to college in Louisiana and then two years later, my parents moved from Indiana to South Carolina. So when I went “home” to visit my parents, I went to South Carolina. And then when I finished college, I moved to Columbia, South Carolina to attend grad school at USC. And then two years later I met Todd and the rest is history.

A year after I moved to South Carolina, my parents moved to Dallas, where they lived until last spring. Last April, they moved back to Indiana. So, now when I go “home,” I’m actually going back to where I finished high school.

Having said ALL of that, it’s such an odd feeling going back to the place where I spent my high school years after ten years of being away from there. But I love visiting here. We spend most of our time just hanging out because that’s just the kind of family we are. But I love that it’s quiet and relaxing.

On Saturday morning, we took the boys to the farmer’s market and then decided to go to the duck pond before it got to be too hot outside.

Right when we pulled up to the duck pond on the Ball State campus, the ducks started running up to us. Kind of funny… kind of scary.

Hudson was so excited to see the ducks (and geese), but then really didn’t want to get too close to them.

We didn’t want Hayes to get down and walk because there was duck poop everywhere and he had taken off his shoes in the car, but we wanted to see if he cared at all about the ducks. He was kind of excited and kind of oblivious.

After the duck pond adventure, we went on a grocery store adventure. Hudson really wanted Hayes to ride in the “truck” with him, and I think Hayes was happy to do it.

It’s very rare that Hudson wants to hug Hayes or sit with him for a picture. He’s really just not all that sweet to his brother very often. I think it’s because he doesn’t like all the attention he gets from us when he’s sweet to Hayes. But when they were riding in the buggy, he really wanted Hayes to smile for the camera with him. He kept putting his arm around Hayes. And I did give him a lot of attention and told him how sweet he was being to Hayes.

Last night, after Hayes was in bed, we put on The Music Man for Hudson to watch. I had a feeling he’d love some of the songs. The Music Man is one of my all time favorite movies. The music is so clever and so well-written. And I just knew Hudson would love the band. He absolutely loved the opening song “he’s a music man, he’s a what, he’s a what…”

This morning after church, we went to lunch with some friends and both boys came home and took great naps. Hayes has so much fun here because there are new toys to play with and lots of space to walk around. He was so happy when he woke up from his nap, but kept waiting for Hudson to get up.

After supper tonight, they went outside to play in the sprinkler. Hayes wasn’t a fan at all.

But Hudson was having the time of his life. He absolutely loved it!

Even though it’s really hot outside, we’ve been going on a pretty long walk every morning just to get everyone outside for a little bit and try to prevent summer cabin fever. I am such a hot-natured person, but I don’t mind when I’ve got this sweet baby keeping me company.

And this is what we have on tap for tomorrow. Pray for us! Potty training boot camp starts at 8:00 a.m.

*And I just had to share this picture! Our friends Lindsey and Joey came into town last week before I left for Indiana. All of our friends from our original newlyweds Sunday school class got together with all the babies for dinner. I was working an event at the church that night, so I didn’t have Hudson and Hayes with me. And my good friend Emily had already gone home by the time I got there, so everyone isn’t in this picture. But I do love this picture of all of the girls with their sweet babies. (Two other babies besides mine aren’t pictured.) So fun that all of the babies have been born in the last few years. I hope they all grow up to be great friends!

back home again…

We’ve moved our simple summer fun to the great state of Indiana.

The boys and I left yesterday morning and drove (with my mom’s help) to my parents’ house in Indiana. Todd didn’t get to come with us because he has so much going on with work right now. But we’re excited about being away for some grandparent fun.

I thought we might get a reprieve from the heat, but it’s just as hot, if not hotter, here than it is in South Carolina. I’m pretty sure the whole United States is suffering with this weather right now. (If you live somewhere that is unseasonably cool right now be sure to let me know how much you’re enjoying your chilly temps! I’ll be so jealous!)

So we endured a 12 hour road trip, and everyone did great. We’re just excited to be here! I see lots of reading, hopefully a decent amount of writing, and just some nice relaxation happening over these next couple of weeks.

We stopped for lunch at a Cracker Barrel outside of Asheville, NC. Hayes had his first biscuit experience.  He was in heaven. He gets it from his mama.

P.S. Just a little opinion to express… Before we left town yesterday morning, I saw Ann Curry say goodbye on the Today Show. It was so sad to me. I hate that she was able to see all the gossip and horrible things said about her. And I just hate it when I know that someone is embarrassed and their feelings are hurt. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Ann in that role. I actually loved her at the news desk and think she’s a fantastic reporter. But, gosh, as a woman I just felt awful for her. And I just don’t think anyone should be treated that way. I love the Today Show and I especially love Matt. I hope they think long and hard before naming Ann’s replacement.

Summer is a Blast!

One of my favorite things about summer with little children is the simplicity. It’s lazy, it’s relaxed, and it’s simple. I love having two little boys who are rowdy and very easy to entertain. They don’t necessarily like “quiet” fun, but they don’t need toys to have fun either. They just need an open area to run and they’re good to go!

One of our favorite ways to have a blast together in the warm weather is to set up the sprinkler in the yard, put the boys in their swimsuits (or even just a diaper), and let them run around the yard. We inflate our big kiddie pool (that is also big enough for adults and a large Golden Retriever) and get just a little bit of relief from the heat. We could spend the whole day outside playing in the water. It’s a safe activity, we can all enjoy it together, and it’s free!

We’re big into doing low-key things together that allow everyone to just be happy and relaxed. There’s no pressure to be quiet and we can laugh as loud as we want to.

After we run through the sprinklers and splash in the pool, everyone needs a little summer treat. I was so excited to find out about Breyers Blasts!® Chocolate REESE’S®. This new variety features chunks of REESE’S Peanut Butter Cup pieces and REESE’S Peanut Butter swirled in chocolate frozen dairy dessert.

REESE’S are my absolute favorite candy, so to have actual REESE’S cups mixed in with my favorite chocolate is just the perfect summer dessert. And my boys love it, too! There is so much flavor packed into each bite. The chocolate is rich and smooth and the bites of REESE’S cups are just perfect for this peanut butter-loving mama. Hudson and Hayes absolutely couldn’t get enough of this. Dessert is a special treat in our house, but it’s summertime, so everyone gets to indulge!

For Hudson’s third birthday, I was super excited to see Breyers Blasts!® OREO® Birthday Blast! This new variety features OREO cookie pieces and rainbow sprinkles in artificially flavored cake-flavored frozen dairy dessert. Oh my goodness. I love cake-flavored treats! And this flavor is really perfect. It tastes like your ultimate birthday cake.

The rainbow sprinkles were definitely Hudson’s favorite part. Little kids just love sprinkles on anything. And the huge OREO flavor combined with the birthday cake and sprinkles was really just perfect. Who needs a birthday cake when this stuff is available? We celebrated Hudson’s birthday as a family at the beach. I was a blast!

I’m excited about having a summer full of simple fun: ice cream on the back porch and kids in swimsuits. It’s our favorite way to have a blast together as a family.

For a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card, answer this question for me: “How would you and your family enjoy Breyers Blasts!?”
