reads for your weekend

I feel like there were so many great posts this week! I have quite a few to share with you that got me really excited and inspired this week.

What inspired you this week?

“It’s Make Your Mamas Proud Time” by Nine and Sixteen

I cried, decided to be a better mom, then yelled at my kids by Sarah Mae

Treasures of Darkness by Nathalie for Naptime Diaries

Time Captured by Nest Egg

This post was so wonderful to me. In a fast food world full of Pinterest ideas that suggest we should “do it yourself and do it right now” I loved this post about taking your time to decorate and style your house. Our homes should be reflections of who we are and should tell a story. Our homes should be filled with treasures from our experiences and daily lives. Read this post!

reads for your weekend… and giveaway winner

I love sharing my favorite posts from this week. It’s fun to share new bloggers and bloggers who have been around for a while. I like sharing posts from “big bloggers” and lesser known bloggers. It helps build community for all of us, and that’s why I like to blog.

I have been updating my Google Reader and adding new blogs to it. It’s so much fun as my life changes and my tastes change to also change where I find inspiration.

Here’s what I was loving this week.

The Handmade Home Tour from House of Turquoise – There is a no-sew tee pee in this post that I would love to put in our future playroom. I am obsessed!

Mix and Match Family– Just another favorite new blog find for me. My new blog friend, Sheaffer from Pinterest Told Me To, introduced me to Shay from Mix and Match Family. Shay is the sister of Sean the Bachelor. (Screams!!) And she is just so adorable and so funny!

Dear Molly: A Letter To My New Mom Self by Duchess of Fork– My friend, Molly, will be having her second baby (a surprise!) soon. And she wrote the sweetest letter to herself. If you’re expecting a baby, you should read this for a little encouragement.

Music by 71 Toes– This is just a beautiful piece from a loving mother who wants to instill a love of music in her children.

Good Night Hug by Marital Bless– Leah wrote the sweetest post that made me cry and made me jump up out of bed to go hug my sweet 3.5 year old, who is the same age as her precious Isaac.

Wooden High Chairs- All you need to know by The Good Life– Are you reading Darci’s blog? She’s adorable and this post about how to paint and seal wooden high chairs to make them food safe is so great and informative!

What posts did you love this week?

Weekend Reading

I’ve been sharing my list of favorite blog posts from the week for a few weeks now, and then Nina suggested I set it up as a link up. This is so all of you can share some of your favorite reads from the week, link up, and help share creative, inspiring, funny, informative blog posts (and even yummy recipes) with each other.

9 Ways to Design Around a TV from Centsational Girl (I love seeing the ways that people incorporate their televisions into their home design, and this was such a great way to showcase lots of different ways)

Father Forgive Me from {tsj} photography (a beautiful post about Compassion International and its impact on a family)

dear me: a letter to your teenage self (and link up) from Chatting at the Sky (Emily’s letter was beautiful, but so were the hundreds that linked up with her. You can read mine here)

So if you have any favorite reads, link them up here!
