my own mosaic

My friend, Cyndi at Southern Daze posted about this today and I couldn’t wait to try it!

She got this idea today from the Scoop.

1. Inspired by Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, 2. French Fried Potatoes Take Two, 3. Yorktown Tiger, 4. Colors of spring, 5. 12, 6. Untitled, 7. OIA, handmade houses, 8. Red Velvet, 9. 2/366 lets plan a wedding, 10. My family, 11. Playful, 12. Beignets and Cafe au Lait

Answer the following 12 questions about yourself (my answers are in parentheses after each question):

1. What is your first name? (erin)
2. What is your favorite food? (french fries)
3. What high school did you attend? (yorktown high school)
4. What is your favorite color? (green and yellow)
5. Who is your celebrity crush? (jake gyllenhaal)
6. Favorite drink? (gin and tonic)
7. Dream vacation? (greece)
8. Favorite dessert? (red velvet cake)
9. What do you want to be when you grow up? (wedding planner)
10. What do you love most in life? (my family)
11. One word to describe you? (playful)
12. Your Flickr name? (erakin11) — this one won’t work because I haven’t uploaded any pictures, but I’m choosing to search for “beignets” because I love them and I love Louisiana!

All you have to do is type your answer to each of the above questions into Flickr‘s search. Using only the images that appear on the first page, choose your favorite and copy and paste each of the URL’s into the Mosaic Maker (3 columns, 4 rows)… Have fun!

{I got my instructions from Cyndi.}

you're gonna be pop-u-lar

Don’t you just love Wicked? “Popular” is without a doubt my favorite song from Wicked and that’s how I feel today. I’ve been “tagged” today more than a slow runner in a game of duck duck goose!

Wearing Mascara and Learning to Be a Wife both tagged me.

Here are 7 random/weird/possibly unknown facts about me:

1. I have lived in three states, but have had 14 street addresses in my lifetime. We move around a lot!

2. My pinkies are permanently crooked. I was born missing a tendon and I’ve never been able to straighten my pinkies.

3. I still managed to play piano for 13 years despite my finger disability.

4. My cousin was Miss America 1987.

5. I was into musical theater in middle school and high school. I played Maria in West Side Story and dyed my hair jet black. It was horrible. Two years later I played Tuptim in The King and I and refused to dye my hair. I bought a black wig instead.

6. I can’t stand for my food to touch. I would kill for those lunchroom style trays to compartmentalize my food.

7. I eat my waffles by following the lines. I cut along the grid. It’s more organized that way.

Because so many people have already been tagged, I’m going to open this up to whoever would like to do it. Tag! You’re all it!

I'm fatter… uh, flattered!

I’m so excited because Rebecca at My Cup Overflows gave me this sweet award today. I love reading her blog and hope that you’ll all start reading it, too, if you don’t already!

1. Southern Daze– Cyndi is one of my favorite bloggers. I can’t wait to see what she has to say every day. She posts great stories about her life and family, but also about amazing vacation destinations, great entertaining ideas, beautiful stationery, and stunning photography. You must check her out!

2. The Lavender Lily– She’s a fellow “Erin” and we went to Louisiana Tech together before she transferred to SMU. I actually found her in the blogosphere through Cyndi of Southern Daze. It’s a Small Blog World after all. She loves TV and I love to hear what she has to say!

3. A Southern Accent- This blogger posts some great design tips, cute finds, and great stories about her adorable child!

4. Make Mine a Mojito– I’m pretty sure she’s already received this, but I just love this girl! She’s hilarious and we’re so similar it’s scary!

5. All Things Fluffy Fashionable and Famous– I’m pretty sure she’s already received this, too, but I just love her blog and couldn’t resist giving her the shout out.

I also received this adorable award today from Newlywed Central. She’s so cute and has great newlywed advice! I’m going to pass this on to the same people listed above.

crazy dog

It is official. While he is lovable, gorgeous, and wild, our Boudreaux is also neurotic, anxious, and depressed.

He has chewed himself raw at least 8 times since May and has lived in a lampshade/e-collar for the past 4 weeks straight. We’ve tried everything and it still hasn’t stopped. He goes on long romps every day where he runs to the point of all night exhaustion. He’s not bored.

We’re not sure what brought all of this on, but we think it has something to do with the fact that I can’t spend every waking hour with him. The vet diagnosed it as separation anxiety.

So today, our beloved Golden Retriever, Boudreaux is going on anti-depressants. I thought I could just stop by the vet’s office the other day to pick them up, but she said she had to order them from Long’s Pharmacy. That’s my pharmacy! My dog is going on people meds?

What’s worse is that I can’t get my insurance to cover Boudreaux’s canine medication, but if he’s on people meds I could probably put it on my Rx insurance card. But then that would affect my insurance rates.

Oh the trials and tribulations of dog ownership!

Fiona was a little messy when we first adopted her. She needed a bath and she had some ear infections. We found out that she has to have knee surgery and she’s only 2! But now she’s fine and our first born has the issues.

Let’s hope that in two weeks, after being on his anti-depressants, Boudreaux will be a different dog and will be back to his old self… like in the photo below!

Who needs kids when we have these crazies to take care of?

Speaking of kids, my adorable cousin is pregnant and she sent me this picture last night. How exciting! Who needs kids when your favorite cousin is having a little girl and you can play with her?

UPDATE: Boudreaux does not have food allergies. Many of you have left comments suggesting that this may be the issue. He has had allergy tests and all kinds of skin tests. This is most definitely a mental issue. We’re just not positive if he is having separation anxiety or if he’s having Fiona anxiety.
