thoughts on Tuesday

-ONE-

I’ve started watching Grey’s Anatomy again. I was a devoted fan and then I quit a couple of seasons ago when two of my very favorite characters died. I’m still upset about that. But I’ve started watching again so I can see Cristina’s departure.

-TWO-

I miss my coffee. Spark is okay and all, but I’ll be eager to at least have one cup of coffee a day again. I am thinking I may learn to drink it black. Any black coffee drinkers out there?

-THREE-

The weather is Columbia is HOT this week. It’s been up in the 90s. I’m thankful that it’s still a little breezy and the humidity is low. It doesn’t feel like a summer day yet, so that’s good!

-FOUR-

We’re heading to Orange Beach, Alabama in less than a month and I am so excited. We’ll be with my parents and my extended family and I know we’re going to want to stay forever.

-FIVE-

We put Hayes in a big boy bed two nights ago. We thought it might be a bit traumatic for him, but it’s actually been a non-event. He didn’t cry. He just got in his bed and went to sleep. And he’s done that for naps and bedtime for the past two days. We’re shocked! And thrilled!

-SIX-

Our last day of preschool is next Thursday. I can’t believe how quickly this year flew by. We’re so looking forward to slow mornings and days at the pool. Hudson is already talking about what he wants to take his lunchbox to the pool every day. He’s definitely my type-A child.

-SEVEN-

Have y’all been watching Dancing With the Stars? I’m so glad that Erin Andrews is on there, and every one of the “stars” is SO good. I have loved watching it this season.

-EIGHT-

I need to do a post about what I’ve been eating, but so far the 24-day challenge has been going really well. I’m on day 15 and I’m down about five pounds, I think. So far I’m not bored with the eating and I’m drinking ALL the water. Constant water drinking. I have noticed a huge difference in the way my pants fit and I’ve got so much less belly bloating.

-NINE-

I started reading This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Trooper and I’m loving it so far.

We’re heading out after naps for a fun afternoon at the park. Gotta soak up spring while it’s still here!

I have GOT to get back on track with Greys. I really fell off the bandwagon this year. I guess I get so swept up in getting the house in order after the kids go to bed that I forget to watch my shows.

Glad the big boy bed transition is going smoothly– that is such a welcome relief, I’m sure!

Enjoy the weather– after such a long winter I have welcomed all forms of heat and humidity 🙂

I recently became hooked on Army Wives. So good!! I can drink my coffee black, but usually only if it’s flavored coffee. Even then I prefer a splash of creamer. 🙂 I love Dancing & Erin is so fun to watch cohost. It’s been a great season!

It’s been years since I watched, Grey’s. Didn’t know that Christina was leaving! I don’t think I could drink my coffee black…jut a splash of sweetened cream for me! 🙂 Awesome results with 5lbs down. Sounds great!!! I know…it’s so hard to drink all of that water, but you are doing awesome!

Why is it that I enjoy a list of randomness so much? Loved all of this. Except for the black coffee part…coffee always needs a touch of cream :).

I have surprised myself how I really enjoy drinking my coffee black now. You just need to find the right coffee that is not too bitter without anything in it. In my opinion Dunkin Donuts is the best.

My 2.5 year old has been in a “big boy bed” for about 8 months….and I SO miss the crib days! My plan was to keep him in his crib as long as I possibly could….and then he started climbing out right after his 2nd birthday. It’s STILL hard to get him to sleep months later. I wish he was a LITTLE bit older and able to understand things a little better. 🙂 Oh well!

About three weeks ago, I went all black coffee and no sweetener in my tea, no soft drinks, and no cabs for five days. It was honestly just a jump start because while thin, I was eating horribly. At 52, I need to stop that! So I jump started myself. Flavored coffee is now easier to drink black. When I feel I just can’t do the all black, I put half as much sweetener and no cream. Sometimes the opposite. I feel like all in all I’m doing better and every little bit helps. Now a trip to Fuzzy’s Tacos didn’t help much in the carb department last night… Good luck!

I would love to hear what you have been eating for this Advocare Challenge. I have heard about it several times over the last few years, but I am intrigued again, especially since you are seeing results.

I’m a big fan of Greys- what are your thoughts now that you’re getting back into it? As for the coffee, I weaned myself from lots of creamer down to black coffee. I don’t love it black, but it’s manageable and I figure by not loving it I drink less which is probably a good thing!

So only water and no diet coke? I need to do this! Five pounds is a lot on little bodies. I bet you feel amazing!

I have loved Erin Andrews as a new host on DWTS. So entertaining! And you’re right about the talent pool this season. It seems like people have been voted off in a logical way and I’ve loved having great talent vs. popular people at the end. I hope it continues!

I cut out cream in my coffee when I did the 17 day diet a few years ago… I don’t miss it. But I use it sometimes when I’m out and the coffee is a little strong. What is spark?

I need to read up on the challenge…need a jump start!

This list is great! #1 I’m one of those that hasn’t been able to give up Grey’s with all of the changes the past few years! I love that you are watching it again. #2 After the first of the year, I cut my cream from about 2 TBSP to 1 tsp. I wasn’t able to fully give it up, but to me, it’s worth the 15-20 calories to have something that I truly LOVE! #3 Our weather has been in the 90’s with a record 99 on Saturday. We have loved the warmer temperatures and have been outside as much as possible. #4 Can’t wait to hear all about your thoughts on the 24 day challenge. I’ve had several friends do it, but I haven’t actually made the commitment. Hope you have a fabulous day!

I gave up processed sugar and the hardest part was forgoing the creamer in my coffee. I started putting honey and unsweetened almond milk in it though and it tastes great now, did take a while to get used to. That would be an easier way to switch to drinking it black slowly.

I thought about getting back into Grey’s. I, too, stopped watching when those 2 characters were gone. I’m a Scandal watcher, so, I would sometimes put Grey’s on to watch as “background noise” as it was on before Scandal. I don’t like having a huge gap of time between when I last watched and currently watch, so, I had no idea what was going on, and it drove me nuts!

If you can drink your coffee black, kudos to you! 😉 I wish I didn’t need all the sugar!

I drink my coffee black. Of course I love cream in my coffee but the calories add up and even just a splash can upset my stomach. I do, however, use cream when I have some in the house for holiday baking – makes it special to just do it once in a while!

I gave up dairy and sugar for the Whole 30 and thought I’d never be able to drink coffee, but I work nights. I tried coconut milk and I actually like it. I don’t even like coconut! I don’t buy the kind in a carton, but rather a can like soup. the other stuff has a bunch of added ingredients, but the canned is often just coconut and water, sometimes a stabilizer, but not at trader joes. It adds a bit of flavor and ligthens it up a bit. It may have taken me a day or two to get used to it, but after several days without sugar or dairy, you may find that it’s an easy switch.

I would love to see how the challenge is going and what you are eating! I am on day 3 and really missing coffee as well! 🙂

Grey’s has been really good lately. Although I’m now terrified for the finale after last night’s preview. I’m loving DWTS this season! I think Erin Andrews is hilarious. She can make the jokes and they are actually funny. But I guess after dealing with athletes, this is probably a cakewalk.

I drink my coffee black! Well, I cheat and do a spoonful of sugar. But I started about two years ago when I tried to cut way back on dairy and all artificial sweeteners. It’s so good and not that hard to get used to! I only cheat with lattes at Starbucks.
