Christ is Risen! He is risen, indeed!
I absolutely love celebrating Easter. I want to shout from the rooftops that I serve a risen Savior and this is the whole foundation of what we believe.
I also love the focus on family through Easter weekend, and we had a fantastic, busy, slow weekend with our family.
On Good Friday, my friend Allyson and her sister, Heather, hosted a huge Easter egg hunt for tons of kids. So many of our friends and their kids were there. The boys had a great time!
I didn’t get a picture of everyone, but I did get a picture of my three sweet friends and their babies.
Todd’s law firm hosted a crawfish boil on Good Friday afternoon for lots of friends and family and colleagues. It was a big family affair. A few of our friends were there with their kids and the kids had a great time running around.
We were shocked that we were able to get all the kids sitting down and remotely smiling. I think the peer pressure got to them and they were all willing to sit just because their buddies were sitting.
I just love sweet Gracie like she’s my own. And she loves Hayes.
There’s a wildflower “garden” on the grounds of Todd’s office, and the boys always love to just run their little legs off when we’re there.
After the crawfish boil, we went to church for The Story performance. I absolutely love the music and the stories behind them. If The Story is ever in your area, I highly recommend going to see it! It’s incredible!
Hudson and I dyed Easter eggs on Saturday afternoon while Hayes napped. We thought about including Hayes in the fun, but Hudson is at a great age where he can really do this. And it was something fun that we could just do together.
He loved it! And he loved writing the first letters of everyone’s names on the eggs and seeing them come out of the dye.
I put this next picture on Instagram because it was so sweet to me. Hudson was so patient while he waited for the eggs to dry, but he wanted to touch them so badly!
Our church had three services today, and since I sing in the choir, I needed to be there at 8:00 this morning. Church was wonderful, with a fantastic, powerful message, and beautiful music.
We left church and went to Todd’s parents’ house to get lunch ready and so the Easter bunny could finally visit the boys! (We decided to wait since church was so early today.)
They got some toys cars, some books, bubbles, some socks, and some new water bottles. They played with their goodies for a bit before we ate.
Hayes got a Bubble Guppies coloring book and I think it’s his favorite thing he’s ever gotten.
We had lunch with Todd’s parents and Nana at their house and the went outside for our Easter egg hunt.
Hudson was so proud of his first bow tie. Todd’s dad wears a bow tie to work every day and Hudson was just so excited to be dressed like his RC. I can’t believe how fast he’s growing up!
This is a funny story that I don’t want to forget. Hudson only wanted to pick up the eggs we dyed instead of the plastic eggs. But he was literally throwing the boiled eggs into his basket. And they’d crack. So he stopped to look at all of them and was horrified that they were cracked. He said, “Oh no! They’re all crapped!” And we about fell out laughing at his little mistake.
He took all of the cracked eggs out of his basket and left them on the ground for Hayes to pick up. And of course, Hayes was happy to have them.
We had a really fun day celebrating with our family and friends the Risen Savior that we are so thankful for.
We are sinners. We are so imperfect and unworthy of the beautiful gift of salvation that we’ve received. But because of Christ Jesus, and his sacrifice for us, we have the promise of eternal life. And we praise His holy name for that gift! He conquered death and rose again!
This is why we celebrate.

Love your sweet family! I’m so thankful for you and you know how I feel about those cutie-pie boys.
Thank you, sweet friend! I hope you all had a beautiful day yesterday. I hope to see you soon! xo
Adorable! Your boys are so cute in their little Easter outfits!
Thank you, Jennifer! I hope you had a happy Easter!
Cute pictures and I especially like the one of you and Todd. Henry has that same KK shortall. I used the same thread as you but the monogram did not turn out well. It blends in so much- maybe the font? Hayes looks precious and I love the bow tie on Hudson. Happy Easter!
Thanks, Jennifer! That KK shortall doesn’t haven’t any snaps in the crotch for size 3… such a bummer! I agree that font is a little wacky.
What a wonderful fun filled weekend! I thought of you Easter Sunday because we made resurrection rolls with my kindergarten Sunday School class- seeing their awe and wonder at the disappeared marshmallow really makes my own awe at the empty tomb completely fresh.
Hudson in his bow tie???? I DIE!
I love it! We didn’t make the resurrection eggs this year because I know the boys both did it in their classrooms, but if I’m being honest, I could have made them just because they’re so dang yummy! 🙂
I love Hudson’s outfit! And how brave you are for letting him dye eggs while clothed! My 2.5 year old was a mess, but maybe that is because of his age.
Hahaha I didn’t even think about that. He is a pretty tidy kid, so I wasn’t really worried about it. But he didn’t have his hands all in the dye or anything. Hayes definitely would have!
Love Hudson’s big boy outfit… especially the belt and shoes!
Thank you, Kate! 🙂
Such precious pictures! I love the picture of Hudson in his bow tie and Vineyard Vines shirt…looks like he’s going to be one styling little man!
He really loves new clothes and likes to take care of his clothes. His brother is the exact opposite! 🙂
What a fun Easter! I love the boy’s outfits, especially Hayes’s jon jon 😉 Hudson is becoming such a little man! I can’t believe it; wasn’t he born yesterday? That picture of him waiting for the eggs melts my heart. He is such a sweet, sweet boy. Further proof Hayes and Griffy would have a big time– G loves Bubble Guppies! It’s all he talks about right now along with backhoes and vacuums.
Love that picture of the four of you and the one of you and Todd. Frame those for the new house, sister! They’re fantastic!
Happy Easter to the Carrolls! XO
Thank you, sweet friend! I feel like he was just born yesterday. And Hayes and Griffy NEED to hang out. Happy Easter to the Haney fam!!
Love the boy’s outfits! We went to a crawfish boil too:)
Yum! I bet yours was even better!!
Looks like you all had a great Easter. What beautiful pictures!!!
Thank you, Tracy!! 🙂 Hope you had a happy Easter, too!
Your boys are so cute! I love the bow tie & the waiting for the eggs to dry! Adorable!
Thank you, Meagan! I’m so excited to “meet” you and follow along with your blog!
What a fun weekend you had! Love, love, love the bowtie!!! Ahhhh. So cute.
I need to get Luke one. Happy Easter, He is Risen, indeed!!
Thank you, Mel! It looks like you all had a fantastic Easter, too! Enjoy your week, mama!
Your boys looked adorable on Easter!
Hi Erin!
I just HAD to let you know that my sister and her best friend were at that crawfish boil on Friday. Our family is from New Jersey, but Courtney goes to school at Furman and spent the Easter weekend in Columbia with her best friend who lives there. Apparently her father (Greg Harris) works with Todd! I think they actually used his baseball tickets this past weekend and sat in his box. Small world, huh? 🙂
Glad you had a happy Easter! I’m loving Hudson’s adorable bow tie!
Hudson’s comment about the eggs just gave me a good laugh!!!!! That is too funny!!! Happy Easter, Erin! What a beautiful family, with so much love bursting from every one of you! (and I’m jealous of your weather….) xoxo
Your kids are so stinkin’ beautiful. My absolutely favorite is Hudson waiting on the eggs to dry!
Hudson in that bow tie is the cutest thing ever!!!!!
Sounds like the perfect Easter!
Loved your beautiful pictures! He is Alive; so glad you had a wonderful Easter!
Whitney
The rosy cheeks on Hayes — that’s just to die for cute!!! Looks like you had a sunny, beautiful Easter. We had such a marvelous day — the only thing that soured it was the Google doodle that totally ruffled my feathers for a few minutes. I feel like Christians are called on to tolerate everything under the sun, but give us our holiest day, all to ourselves (and not Cesar Chavez)? Nooooooooo. Ugh.
Anyway, belated Happy Easter and many blessings to you all!
What an absolutely PRECIOUS little family on Easter!!!!
Hudson’s bright pink polo and little bow tie are like the cutest things ever! 🙂 I love that he wears pink. (real men wear pink 🙂 )
The boys are adorable! That picture of Hudson waiting on the eggs to dry is precious.
I sing in my church choir as well, we do the Easter Vigil every year though :-). Hudson looks so grown up!
It looks like you had a wonderful Easter weekend! I am obsessed with your boys Easter outfits, they have the cutest clothes. I am a sucker for any boy in Vineyard Vines 🙂
Hudson is such a little cutie pie in that bow tie. I can’t stand it. And I’m giggling over here about “they’re all crapped.” Too funny!
